Heated seat issues

I have had an issue for a while with my drivers side heated seat coming on by itself. I also read a few others have the same issue. Anyway decided to tackle the issue today and find a fix. Removing the casing which holds all the seat adjustments is fiddly at best. There are 2 small screws under the casing that need to be removed first with a very shirt screwdriver. Suggest moving seat into its highest position first. Next step is very tricky as the casing is held onto seat with very fragile plastic sticks which I used a long nosed player to remove with quite a bit of force. Removing the heated seat control requires a very small torque screwdriver but relatively easy. I used contact cleaner sprayed into switch and rolled the control kbob several times. Tested with multimeter and all was fine after this and now works fine in car.

Nice problem to have! No such luxuries as heating elements in the carbon buckets of the Strad!

As with most things, a quick fiddle and clean makes all the difference. Good to see all back working

Thanks for the tip! Seems to have sorted out my car (I’ve been having the same problem). Just an FYI to all those who have this problem but cleaning doesn’t solve, you can simply unplug the cord running into the rotating switch under the seat. The cord runs parallel with the front of the seat base leading to the driver door

Before all that..Try just spraying WD40 or similar on the control wheel and spin it round a few times.

Worked for me approx 3 months or so ago..

Question on this - does it show that its on in the central display? Mine is off but I'm sure I'm getting a warm **** whilst driving! No rude comments please :)

yes that is a symptom I had: the seat heater was on but the central display showed 0. Sometimes it would randomly come up on the central display as 1, flicker back to 0 etc. Until I had it cleaned I would hit the seat base with my fist and that would sometimes turn it off (if it had turned on to 1 of it's own accord).
