I think thats the Italian driving style. That will be nice once you get through the middle no-mans land section.
I'll see if I can get the GT down to Italy, take it home.
I don't mind it that much. Sticking to the D roads avoids the numbing miles of dual carriage way and some of the towns and villages are lovely stopping here and there... it can't come soon enough. Never been to the south of France before either so that'll be interesting.

Just be careful many of the smaller roads, and smaller towns in France, still have the stupid Priorité à Droite rule.

They are thankfully systematically doing away with this dangerous 1927 rule across the country but on small back roads, and in many small towns and villages, it is still in force. Crazy when a tiny laneway has priority over what looks like the main road.

Yellow diamond on a white background is priority to the right...black line through it and you have priority .

I had two young looking chavs in a Focus right on my rear bumper for a couple of miles, I had to stop at some lights and there they were again, almost breaking their necks to get a look at the car.Lights changed to green and I pulled away slowly then accelerated up the duel carriageway doing quite a speed.Next roundabout they catch me up and are are still on my rear bumper, the road changes to 30mph, just as I think I'm stuck with them I see their Blue lights come on, I'd been racing a police car :saifi:."Quite a speed you were doing back there Sir" was their opening line, I apologised and told them I often get young kids in Corsa's and Focus trying to race me and tailgating. They seen my point and acknowledged that I had slowed right down when I came into the 30 zone, and then started asking loads of questions about the car.
I too have noticed the local rozzers closely inspecting my rear bumper. Luckily they are all driving gods so no real danger of them rear-ending me. :(

It's the other way around: black line through the diamond means you are losing the priority.

But in small towns they don't flag up the priority, you are supposed to know.

That's right, if you have priority, you will see this:

You have no priority if you see this: 5480a94966.gif

Not something I've seen much of but more common in the South than the North of France?
