Hi All
I'am Peter 46y old and I'am a car mechanic.I live in Hungary and most of the time I work with oldtimer cars. I like Maserati, and 1 of my friends has a Mexico. He bought the car from USA. That is a daily driver, but he plans to restorate it.The car now has some minorworks what I need to repair.I hope here I will find some good technical tip.

Hi Mexico1,
If it is any use, I can sent you the 138 page owner and maintenance manual (in PDF format),
which covers both the AM107 and AM112 models (Quattroporte and Mexico).
The text is in Italian.
Good luck with the repairs and maintenance,
Regards,
Enzo.

Enz that is very good of you. Also I see Frank has given you the link to Enrico's site which will be of great use to you as it deals more with the classic Maserti.

Welcome and do keep us up to speed with your resoration.

Hello Enzo
Thanks for the kind offer, I will meet with the owner of the car next week.He is now in Spain, and told me he has some books of the car.
If that is not enough than I will ask you from that and buy it.
Now I have first repair the wisher mechanic, the power windows/ build new gears instead of plastic by CNC/ and take a big circle arround the fuel system cause 1 set of 42 DCNF carbs were burn out....and until now not all things correct. The brake reservoirs /Girling/ are broken too at the caps.

No problem Peter,
Just let me know if you want me to send it to you, it will be via e-mail and there is no charge.
I know the power windows on the QPs are problematic and very difficult to get hold of, not sure if the Mexico ones are the same,
but a rebuild is probably the best option.
Parisien mentioned Bill McGraths, worth getting in touch with them for tips/advice and to see if they have any parts you may need.
Regards,
Enzo.

Hi again
Long time I didn't posted any news but some steps are ready now.I restorated the We42DCNF collection, and were some dificult works.1 of 4 was broken at the float pin, and I found a boy who could welded it. Also arrived the overhoul sets and syncrometer.
The power window stil ready with new gears which also made by cnc here in Hu. and it works good only the rubber coupling I could not take new.
I ordered also an electronic ignition without contacts to take it fix. Works good.
These week I would like to check the valve clearance but I find different clearances at the net: intake 0,28-0,30 and exhaust 0,40-0,45
The first check shows that the clearances are too small at our engine, but I will work on these week.
1 thing is fix, after installed the carbs we had a test drive and the car drives fantastic, and the power comes after 3500RPM and everybody surprise what that car is it??
As I have any news I write it.
Bye, M1
