Great Drive over the Brecon Beacons

Hi All

Just had a great drive over the beacons and was lucky not too many cars on the road and for the first time in ages it was not raining.

Took one piccy when stopped for a quick cuppa. Sky is a bit burnt out as used iphone

Great roads up there Jay...Used to go up there a lot in me Lotus days............Usualy get loads of bikers these days spoiling your fun but glad to see you had it mostly to yourself.

It's the 4.7 one.

There were lots of bikes but not to bothered as am a keen biker also so bit more forgiving to them when they get in your way, it's the sheep you have to be more aware of they are just so dumb! They are like mini kamikazes there are dusk!

Yep, not far and some great roads..........There was a time when you never really got that much traffic up there...It was heaven but now as with most of the best driving roads they become over crowded which is why a traffic is now the best place to test you cars performance........Oh and you need get the odd Police speed check up there as they know whats going on....

We always used to go up there on New Years day...it was great...not many cars up there.....Oh and ice...always bottom twitching moments....Great stuff...

wow that looks a great location, what elise is that in the first lot of pics? 135R? Nice Exige 190, that and the S1 Exige are the nicest you have owned IMO, although i did like the Kermit green 160.

It's a135R...A ******* Adam......Handling was stunning but for me just needed a little more power....But very focused.....

Yes great value...My old car is up for 17k........Richards would be a good one as its got all the bits added from the factory..........

I spoke to Dickie this morning about it on Twitter, says he wants to buy it back, one of the best cars he has ever owned, just not in a position to buy it back he says.

I do like that colour a lot, was an expensive option too. I saw one in Autumn Gold one time, that must be a rare colour.

That is rare and pretty unloved Adam...But the one I say I thought looked really nice....Only know of two Exige in that colour...

If I could having any of my Lotus back It would be Sport160 Elise, Exige S1 and then the 135R or Exige S2......The Sport 160 was a mini S1 Exige but a little easier to live with everyday......

I keep looking at S1 Elise's for sale, i spotted one the other day in dark metallic red, think it is called Canyon Red, looked lovely. I think the S1 Elise looks better than ever. S1 Exige i really like, going up in value too plus a lot seem to have the Honda conversion.

Couple of 160's for sale, none in Scandal though, would have to hold out for that colour, looks epic. Your S2 Exige looked smart, Storm Titanium??

I had the 135R and went into the Lotus dealer for a look..They had the Exige S2 in stock and I eneded up buying it...Had no intention of buying but it was such a good deal as Lotus had just annoced the 2006 upgrades and they wanted rid of the 2005 cars.....Never thought I would have grey as always wanted orange but once I saw it I loved it and it looked more grown up over the oranges and yellows for some reason.......Plus a Toyota engine car is such a better everyday car....

And just for you Adam....I know I've posted before but always worth another look...
