I’ve searched few threads on here first, but couldn’t really find what I was looking for, although a lot of useful related information.

I’ve just tried a couple of places with Hunter Hawkeye and not been able to get sorted. First one, Eden Tyres couldn’t get car onto their set up due to it being raised and car too low.

They then said the only place they knew locally (I live in Chesterfield) with a set up I could get onto was Kwik Fit. They have Hunter as well, but sent me away without much consideration saying the computer wouldn‘t have the correct settings and to go to dealer. Anyone know if that’s correct about Hunter, I thought I’d read they would have Granturismo settings?

Nearest dealer is an hour away and wanted £468, which they reduced to £325 when pushed. Still sounds a lot when compared to standard £69 for other Hunter places. Also, having read stuff on here, I’m concerned dealer recommended settings will make the car twitchy and tramline, plus wear tyres out.

So at the moment I’m a little confused. Anyone know anywhere local ish to me that knows what they’re doing? And what do I need to ask for to get a more forgiving set up?

Dexel said he’d help, but said he‘d had problems when using Maserati recommended settings. Didn‘t test drive well.

He didn’t know the solution, but said he’d look with me if someone had some recommended changes to standard settings? To stop the tram lining and early tyre wear. Anyone any ideas? I’ve seen differing recommendations on some pretty old threads.

Ask @marios kriticos at Autoshield Maserati. They don’t do in house but they know someone who does.

Thanks, I’ll give him a call

I think I found the Maserati recommended settings on here somewhere, will have to look again. I think some said the rear settings are fine, but the front needs less of something, toe in/out, camber. Anyone know?

If you want a pointy front end- you’ll have to accept it comes at a cost of uneven tyre wear IIRC.

Please keep us posted with the results

Which is odd because I'm pretty damned sure that Hunter *does* have the correct settings.

The factory settings have some toe out to make the car turn faster. Down side is it eats front tyres' inner edges. You probably want to consider zero toe, which sacrifices that agility for stability and much increased tyre wear.

I’m not too bothered about pointy front end, it’s a GT cruiser for me. I’ve read if the front end turns in fast it gets jittery and tramlines on the flat, not really what I want.

If you have PZero’s yes.

I recently had my Strad alignment done, as it was skittish and wearing the inner front tyres.

Went for neutral / zero toe and it’s like a different car, much more planted and stable at high speed.
70mph you mean?

Marios at Autoshield.

The only others are further away:

1. Center Gravity in Atherstone, Warwickshire. Yes that is the correct spelling for Center.

2. Wheels in Motion in Buckinghamshire

Both these have the full set of shims needed for geometry work on Maserati cars

I do have PZeros yes. I‘ve decided to pause the alignment and wait until I get new tyres, which will probably be October time. What do people recommend instead? Given weather this summer, something with decent wet weather performance?
