The OEM GT Sport front pads are stupidly expensive, has anyone found an alternative?

How stupid, is stupid?

I think they are a commonly found item if applied to another vehicle...

But check part numbers etc!

There are cheaper options but it'll be too late to find out how REALLY good they are, so stick to a good brand!

I bought new front and rear pads from EBC (Redstuff) for £218. I got a £20 discount by using the discount code from the other forum.

what about ceramic brakes need a set thats not stupid money for a mc strad

Due to the low numbers produced, I don't think that there are any other manufacturers producing them other than the OE Brembo pads. They are a special compound for the carbon ceramic material which are expensive but on the plus side, the discs themselves out last the standard steel brake discs considerably

thanks you that makes it not so painful although a £1500 service has just ended up costing me £7000

I'm a big fan of Ferrodo DS2500 pads, Fronts are FRP3100H
I've had them on my last few cars and now on my GT and made a big difference. Probably not cheaper than OEM at around £230 a set, but I think worth it.

Agree, Ferrodo pads have a reassuring bite.

You have Ferodo DS Performance pads, which are R90 compliant but a lot better than standard.

It’s all about choice, but DS2500 are technically a race pad only.

My choices would be:

OEM equivalent FDB4212
Better then OEM FDS4212
I don’t care about R90 regs and like a very sharp bite FRP3100H

I was not impressed with yellow stuff on my GS and the man that makes the discs pictured refuses to supply EBC, so make of that what you will.
