Just in case...

Perhaps Dicky should add a pair as part of his new buyer welcome pack. "Here are your keys and paperwork. The tin of mints are in the car. Oh and here are you spare pants. You will need them at some point. I took the liberty of choosing brown for you"

I think the QP6 interiors (the ones I have seen) look depressingly drab and Audi-like, even with their great slabs of 'wood'. Whereas the QPV has a classical, curvy, look. But that's just me.

I also really don't need a car 6 inches longer and 2 inches wider than my QPV. I'm having enough trouble finding places to put my length and girth as it is.
Show off or is that your wide shoe fitting?

Every time I turned the key, I expected something to go 'ping' in a horrifically expensive fashion :D

Never did, but...

Every other GT/QP that comes into us requires front bushes and that's about a grand indy, twice that in the dealership

Every one in 4 GT/QP that comes into us requires rust repair to the front subsume, usually done at the same time as the bushes

The 2 bolts on the bottom of each wishbone are £95 each

Clutches will cost you £3k (every 35-40k miles)

AC pumps last 20k miles, that's about a grand

Front discs are expensive, pads not so.

Every other GT/QP that comes in has leaking cam cover gaskets which is another £500 job

Most pre 2009 GT/QP that comes in had variator issues and that's £2-3k

So my advise is, buy a known, inspected forum car or from Richard Grace and pay a little more so you don't get a nasty surprise.

So they are rubbish cars?....no, not at all, they are very, very good but poor maintenance will kill them off.

£30k will buy you a very nice 4.7GTS (MC Shift)

If in doubt, get it inspected, its the best £250 you will every spend.
This post ^^. my learned friends is the best valentine gift any prospective buyer could wish for.

My experience illustrates the conundrum. the difference between expectation and reality. Many workmates in office on a rainy day, " bloody weather, I have to walk to train station". Some cheery tit offers " I cycle from station to office every day, but get tube when it's raining. So far only used the tube 4 times in one year"

Both 3200 and QP were run as daily driver for at least 5 years each so I have a decade of experience. Never once have I worried that car would not start or might break down.
The 3200 never broke down, but regularly failed to start. ( always does eventually).
The QP has never failed to start but did break down just once out on the road. ( F1 pump failed - undiagnosed just a week before. This was a real PITA as stranded in southern France on a bank holiday).

Every car can have issues. Each owner can choose how much time and effort expended on the worrying about them.
