Still a huge jump for me...If I get 13.5k for my 4200 it still a 13k+ jump to a GS only 18 months younger...far to much to tempt me.

I'm hoping the one of I've just bought is a good compromise.

Not from what I've heard or seen, been in the car at full blast....lovely specimen! I wouldn't say its a compromise DG....just a **** good car for the price and what it is as a Maserati!

You wont be disappointed Dicky believe me , more responsive than a standard GS , with the ease of manual control , you'll have that grin all over again im sure

Agree with above comments that car is far too much money.....Thats def not softening. You do not need to pay any where near that to get a good one.

No Adam..don't agree...That is not cheap from a dealer......If it was 35k you could possibly say that.....I've seen 06 cars up for 32995 over the last year at dealers....Remember that blue one....They will not sell that car for that money...Unless someone walks buy who hasn't got a clue and really likes it.

Prices will start to go up in the next 6 weeks, March, April and May are the best months to sell and cars will be worth a good couple of grand more.

Based on what I have seen that is for sale GS wise at the moment, the GS prices are still very strong. The lack of depreciation of the the GTS and the fact that the GT is not all that (and still £50k entry) is doing this.

Current sticker prices are:
2005 £29k
2006 £32k
2007 £35k
2008 £38k

I see Artejano's car is for sale and prices to sell:

Andy that blue GS sold, i think it sold for about 40k which is a lot but dont forget that black one has only 6k miles so they will want a decent premium as it is probably the lowest miled GS in thw country. It is cheap compared to the blue GS they had but compared to the other GS's for sale, it s over priced.

If prices go up then the GS market will get worse, for example, if an 08 car fetches 40k, surely people are going to by a GT in stead at around 45k.

I know what you mean, but a decent GT is still £55k, and a decent GS of the same year is £38k and I dont think anyone will debate that a GS is much better than the 4.2 GT so there is still a £17k gap there.

This time next year, I think a 2008 GT will drop £10k to £45 and a 2008 GS £8k to £30k.....time will tell.

yes your probably right Matt, i woildn't be tempted to buy a GT for 45k as it s te cheaper ones nd have more miles on. An 8k drop in a year sounds a lot, i am not sure an 8k car will lose that much.

I have always looked forward to my next car as. GT but am starting to think that if things don't move much in the next two years then a GS is the better option until the GTS comes down to more affordable prices. I think that the GT may become the car that nobody wants.
