Gransport or Granturismo?

Not driven a GS, but my GT S 4.7 is a lot of fun. I'm comfortable with the size of the car, and I do 80% of my driving on narrow roads (it's what I grew up with).
If you can run to a GT S MC, I suggest you try one, the sense of occasion and sound is very good value indeed.
Choose carefully though. Check subframe condition, front brakes, front inner tyre wear and clutch wear. Buying an enthusiast owned car is a plus. Maintained without cost parameters is the way to go.

someone buy that green GS spyder at mcgraths! sensational looking car!

Looks like it finally may have sold. I doubt mcgraths would divulge the selling price but I'd be interested to know.

Less GS on the market now... Presumably that's a winter thing?

I have to admit I didn’t consider the GS when I bought my GTS but fell in love with the looks, sound and the colour! Are the GS models ULEZ compliant?

I’ve flip-flopped between both over the last 10 years or so. I would agree that the GS is much better for a spirited drive on country roads because of its size, but also it is just that bit more precise and you get a bit more communication from the chassis and tyres. But the GT is better for longer journeys on wider roads - albeit I did Monaco and back in my GS Spyder and it was excellent. I also find the GS seats a lot more comfortable than the seats in the GT, even the facelifts seats. Truth is they are very different cars in looks, size and feel, the GS being curvy and more modern classic feeling with a lovely very hand built feel to the interior, whereas the GT has more edges, looks more modern, and the interior feels a little more generic. And if you speak to the specialists they will generally tell you that the GS will be the cheaper car to run longer term, eg the price of parts for the GT is higher, and they are more complicated electronically so more to go wrong potentially.

What does ULEZ compliant mean?

Edit - Ignore me - I’ve just googled it, and so is mine!

I know it’s not a lot of money to enter ULEZ zone but it is inconvenient and the zone is expanding. It would make it difficult for anyone close to London. I sold my 996, which was not ULEZ compliant to buy the GTS.

The GTS is quite big, it makes my Gallardo and 911 feel small. I wish cars wouldn’t get larger with every model. You do however quickly get used to the size (otherwise you are a bad driver :)). I would like to move to a Stradale next but I really don’t want a black or white car (sorry).

Even with yellow calipers? ;)

Even with yellow callipers , it’s a good thing everyone is different. Two of our cars are black and it’s not out of choice. Sometimes a colour can grow on you over time. It was the same when I was looking for the 911 turbo, most were black. Maybe wrap is the only option.

Rosso magma sounds nice, I should go and see how it looks in the flesh.

Sorry for the thread diversion. The op should test drive both and buy the faster one in Blue!

I do agree colours have got a bit boring. We've got 4 black, 2 grey, 2 silver and a red!

Been trying to do deals on 2 blue ones though this last week

All Post-2005 petrol cars will be OK, many cars registered before will be also (for example we have a 2002 E39 BMW 525i for sale which is ULEZ compliant).

Petrol cars that meet the ULEZ standards are generally those registered with the DVLA after 2005, although cars that meet the standards have been available since 2001. Basically any petrol not conforming to Euro 4 emission standards will have to pay.

For those who decided Diesel was the way forward, they are much less likely to be compliant. Any diesel not conforming to Euro 6 emission standards will need to pay ULEZ and that is a fairly recent standard. Diesel cars that meet the standards are generally those registered with the DVLA after September 2015.
