Glove box light

Noticed after a two hour drive the glove box light was very hot when I opened the glove box.
Using my mobile phone on video mode I have discovered that the light does not switch off when the glove box is closed.
Is the plunger adjustable, or is it a case of glueing something to the lid so it makes better connect to the plunger.
The light does go out if you push in the plunger by hand.

It probably is adjustable but how, i've no idea without having a look, and it's too early in the morning for that kind of thing! You must have caught it just as it happened or you wouldn't have been able to start the car, it doesn't take much to drop the battery voltage too low for starting.

It turns off when the ignition key is removed, so no flat battery problems.
They might all do it, but never noticed!

The plunger can pull out - it should be spring loaded in 2 parts , it can get stuck in and compacted which means it won't turn light off when lid is shut - only when ignition is off . I had this problem which resulted in some very hot cds and cases in glovebox on a longer journey
