I'm glad I don't live in or anywhere near London

Especially as there is no reliable UK online database for Euro emission standards for cars. Although I'll still avoid that little dot in the bottom right hand corner of the UK if driving - they have public transport down there if you need to get around. There will be court cases and appeals galore about that.
Part of the reason we are looking at Ireland
In Ireland if you want a decent car you’ve got to pay 36% of its value to import it if it’s got a decent engine in it. Rest of the U.K. is fine, it’s just London that are doing this.

Its not importing that is the issue but VRT (which is registration tax) on any car under 30 years old, over £8k to take the RR over, so just need to find an older daily classic.
On the otherhand once you get out of Dublin house prices are much cheaper, it costs much less to put the kids through university and the pace of life is so much easier
That's THE UK is it not?I'm glad I don't live in or anywhere near London
On a personal import yes, but Zag has loads of cars!
