....... and Malc has his track hore.......

Did you just calll my much loved Italian mistress a *****????

I 'll be seeing you sir! :)

Hi Futse and welcome Malcolm...............great cars just unique especialy with an auto box......... turbo lag, kick down lag and ooooooohh!

Cam chains need to monitored schedule change at 48k but can be monitiored carefully, engine out to change them.

The boys at Emblem are very knowledgeable indeed, ours has been cared for by them for a long time and Bill McGraths for a while while it lived with Rich

Well my trip to JCT Brooklands negotiated a deal of £384
for the cam belt change which seemed quite decent.
They have not done a change on a cup for some time so let's see what Friday brings although as Thursday is one of the Italian bank holidays let's see if the parts arrive.
what you noticed was how quiet the whole place was. A wonderful White GT and an equally awful White GT convertible.

You are right but they tend to google it and come backwith a compliment.
Brooklands and in particular the dealer in South Ken are always keen for me to trade it in for something newer. There used to be a few people on their waiting lists but guess things have moved on.
I spent a long time persuading my loved Alfa 75 to move to the cup out of the garage today. The 75,is a wonderful car but needs a lot of cash spent to make it road worthy again.

I can't stand the tension!!

I wonder how Bram's getting on??

sorry- hang on; you've got a 75!!? "hats off" to you I say, what a lovely piece of gear...

I was down getting my own belts done on the Cup last week at M&P and they've got a 75 they are converting to a track car; here's some shots...

(with a bit of luck, I won't be offending Martin & Phil by hosting these...)

Looks wonderful. I bought mine in 93
so cannot part with it or put the 5k in to do it justice. Really great car and better than my GTA all in all.
Thanks for the excellent pics and sure the mods will let us off just this once.
Best wishes

That would be a good Track car, rwd and good engine. I like the red GS next to it in pic 4 although it looks a bit dusty.

Auto Italia was exceptional this year with a great turnout and whilst my cup got there without the new cam belt on changing from 5th to 4th the box locked and free wheeled itself in neutral until an exit on the M1 and a lift home via Britannia Rescue !
Time to crack open the credit card!
Hope everyone else got home in a better shape.

Thanks guys.
It was T25CUP.
Was talking to Henry who was there with the silver car and I was explaining that bar self inflicted problems it had been sound.
I shall lick my wounds and post progress on getting it back on the road.
Noticed before I left my GTA had developed a cracked front screen !
If things come in 3s I am getting the bus to work.
Have a good week guys.

Malcolm,

I will swap you a gearbox for your front seats ??????

I have read several times although have no proof that the gear box is very similar/ the same as the ones fitted to the E36 M3. The gear box is a Getrag 6 speed unit, and I doubt that they made a specific one for Maserati, the odds are it is just a generic one.

Thanks Del.
You are right it is a getrag box and rather than swop it for the front seats we could club together for an old E36 at today's knock down prices - just not sure what we would do with the rest of it.
Anyway Del - take it I can rely on you for a sub if the repair bill comes in above my £50 limit !
