I told the guy at the dealer yesterday that I wasn't interested and informed him of the contents of the report from McGraths. Didn't seem bothered and I assume they will just wait for someone to make a spontaneous and risky purchase, suppose it does happen.

Well after the failed attempt with the red one, I was introduced last week to an owner that was 'thinking' of selling by Ewan. A phone call and a trip to Farnborough on saturday resulted in a 1999 Ghibli GT auto in Ross Oriente with cream leather coming home with me.....its perfect with massive history and been very well loved all its life. The Ghibli itch has been well and truly scratched.

Not sure how to upload pics but heres a link to some pics by the last but one owner

Going to pick up the mother in law for lunch in it today today......

By the way thanks for the Maser chat on the phone last week Ewan...and of course the details on this one...owe you a beer for that.

Great looking car, you must be well chuffed after seeing the poor red one.

IIRC Is that Emblem Sports Cars garage I see it in have the engine done?...if so it will be spot on.

Great news Ian and I'm delighted to have been able to help you find a good example. If you speak with Myles at Emblem he should be able to tell you what's been done and what else might need doing.

Thanks Ewan, I'm really chuffed, just took it out for the 5th time today and came home smiling. I will speak to Myles as I need the service book stamped and it will be good to have a chat. There doesn't seem to be anything immediate, maybe recolouring the leather on the centre armrest, some rust around the front grill will be done over the summer. The old school Clifford alarm doesn't give confidence either, apart from that its perfect. Thanks again.

Hi - I'm glad you're happy with it Ian, and hope it gives you a similar good service to the last 6.5 years I had with it. I'm missing it already ... :(
