Parking up today, when I got out a middle aged female smoker hanging about at the entrance said.....semi-jokingly " Why don't you park that cheap motor somewhere else!"

Others nearby laughed....of course I laughed too.......and said " I know.....am going to park it in a scrapyard later in the day!"...illicited a bigger laugh..........hhhmmmmmmmm...

What things that have been said .....negatively to you guys?

Well i have had people who seem to gravitate towards the Car regardless of how far away i can park it.
In a supermarket i got under-taken by a 4X4 who was showing a little envy i think.
He proceeded to speed into said carpark so i as usual parked way way at the back and away from all others.
As i was walking to the shop is saw him back our and bang! straight into an old folks silver car.
He proceeded to get out of his car and have a go at the old folks for comming down the road as he was manouvering to park!
He basically was a largish (but rotund)bald guy of maybe 35-40 and i could see that the old folk were intimidated by his attitude and he was using his size to "good effect".
He basically said "its all your fault but anyway its knock for knock in a carpark so i am not going to give you my insurance details and proceeded to walk off.
Now sadly i usually just mind my own but seeing the little old lady crying and shaking just rubbed me up the wrong way.
I said "chap you are the one thats in the wrong and regardless of the incident taking place in a carpark it is still in essance gouvourned by the same protacall as a road incident and a claim can be made and upheld.
He said "you the guy in that maserati arn`t you"
I said "Yes"
He patted me on the shoulder and said "well its none of your business mate"
(Red Rag to Bull) I said "mate you are actually really starting to p1ss me off about now and i strongly advise you to exchange insurance details and move on"
I am a witness and i saw the entire thing and although i can understand how gutted you must be, the damage is all on there car and your untouched and i am not going to let you Bullsh@t and intimidate these folk any longer"
I gave my name to the old couple and told the old lady not to worry and physically pulled out there wheel arch after taking images on the damages etc.so they could acually drive home.
The guy again tried to blag out of exchanging details and i said once more and maybe with a little too much force "you are really pissing me off" he backed down and said of course i will and dont worry i will make sure that everything is right.
I left it at that but checked up when i came out that all way being resolved.
Its interesting to note that of the 5 guys standing around watching and the several women, not one would have defended that old couple!!
Anyway as i got back to my car Lo and behold there is this P reg metro with more rust than metal left, park so close to my car i had to get in through the passengers seat !
This is about the 8th occasion that i have been targeted whilst parking in empty carparks(where is the logic in what these people do?)

Cant say stationary ive ever had any abuse , even the hoodies seem to give it the thumbs up , which is a great positive when popping into the local shops, im at the stage now where i ask the local lads that are always hanging about , to keep an eye on it , their cool and always acknowledge, had a few Wanchor signs when i gunning about more often than not from Audi drivers , i can see in the rear view mirror their noses hard pressed against their windscreen trying to see what has just flown passed them

around my area i dont get abuse
people dont know the value of my car they think its £100k as theres not many around so when they see a young lad in one driving around at times when most people are at work i bet they think hes best left alone

Dem, the £100k thing, its great is it not.

Still remember the Sky installer that came round my house to fit a new dish or something, and rebuilds old vintage cars as a hobby, so no fool when it comes to cars. He was all over my 6 year old 3200 and he asked me the money question and I fired it straight back at him and asked him what he thought is was worth......£150k-£200k

LMFAO!!!!

See you tomorrow Dem.

what 150-200k what a joker, thats soo funny
its same here because every 30 year old is in a bm or merc thats their cars for showing off (mainly m3s which costs £12k) so when i pull up in mine htey stare at it like they never seen one and at petrol stations i get it from all angles, nice car, was it more than £80k, does it drink, you know all the questions that make my day

Had a couple of hoodies who i shot past all guns blazing( i am bad!)....they were in a blinged up corsa and stuck there heads out of the car window at the next set of lights andshouted "hey mate...what the H£LL is that!"
I said "it says on the back"
....."Eh?...Oh Maserati .....Nice!"
Its hard to keep the grin off and act nonchalant.....He He!Smug bustard arnt i..LOL

Have to say i bet most on here would have done the same regarding the arsehole in the 4X4.
I really felt for him and know what a shock it is when you look in your mirror and nothings there ..reverse and BANG!.
It frightens the life out of you and then the adrenaline kicks in..
But come what may... you just can`t be that much of an arsshole and the old lady was tiny (top of head in line with my chest)..Still i am 6`8...LOL (i wish..nah a paltry 5`10)

Never had any negative coments, but I hear quite a few nice ones when I have the windows down (to hear my V8 :thumb: ), mostly "nice car mate" but one of my favourites was "how many companies do you own?"

It also amazes me that so few people know what these cars are.

Interesting thread, and I thought Id add my "two penneth". Part one - Today (1/7) was out for a little drive to give my QP a chance to get her juices flowing.... when following a large truck down a A road (60mph road limit). I noticed a Lotus Elise or similar coming up fast behind me, then tried to overtake me but couldnt because of on-coming traffic. All this time he was oogling the QP, obviousley looking to have a race with me, anyway eventually he got past me (I was'nt going to entertain him by racing). Well once past me he must have been still staring in his mirrors at the QP.... cause the next thing is he glanced off the side of the truck I had been following and disapeared into the kerb and then into the bushes at the side.
Both the truck and myself stopped to see if he was OK, which he was.... but his car had basically broken into four parts. He still had his wits about him to say "I was hoping to out perform you", to which I said tell that to your insurance company, and see what they think of that.
Part two - After leaving my lotus friend to pick up the pieces, I was driving back home and going up Harpenden high street, when I picked up Mr boy racer and Mr BMW... both of whom skreeched to halt beside me to ask what the car was, and on saying it was a Maserati both these guys gave a thumbs up and then proceeded to rev up their engines obviousley wanting to try their luck against me. However, I let them on their way, only for them both to get pulled by plod a mile or so up the road. Moral of the story..... show off by all means, but do it where its (A) safe to do so, and (B) keep your eyes open!!
