Full lock judder?

Noticed something new recently.

On a couple of occasions usually coming out of a parking spot I have had to make a full lock manoeuvre at very low speeds and I feel the front wheels juddering.

Feels like the wheel is rotating on a disk that is very uneven. Smooth then rough, smooth then rough.

Any ideas? Doesn't seem normal.

Driving normally everything is absolutely fine.

Cars often 'hop' on their front wheels when you have lock on at low temps on summer tyres. Could it be this?

I've had similar experiences in car parks with concrete floors. I've always put it down to the surface being less grippy than tarmac.

Happens with wide tyres on many cars in my experience - I wouldn't worry about it... I've always assumed the tyres couldn't run perfect arcs across all the tread at full lock.

Happens on all my cars in the winter unless on winter tyres...must be something to do with Tyre compound. Nothing to worry about.

does it do it when the rack is at full lock?
had it on a previous car, and traced to low fluid level plus incorrect tyre pressures. Cheap and easy fixes are always preferable.

Had it on the GT and the 4200. Noticed it when Felice was getting the car out of his unit and mentioned it. He said it's completely normal.

I think it is this coupled with the lsd which causes it to judder.

My GS does this. If it's the front wheels I'd check tyre pressures, as increasing this solved it on mine. The limited slip diff' is something else which is a soft whine. Also happens on full lock at slow speed. I had the plates turned around, but checking the lubricant helps also.

It's a common problem in winter on low profile summer rubber. Personally I don't see it as an issue other than it tells you you should really be running winter rubber for 3-5 months a year.
