Ok guys Big question here!
as some of you know i intend a nice trip to germany the end of the month for my dad's birthday, i had everything all worked out until i bought my QP!
so i have a couple of questions.

First how big is the tank in the QP?

I have to cover 950KM or just under 600miles is it feasible to do that in one tank, all motorway so all cruising but fully loaded.

Thank you!

I would say 400 is your max also, and you will have to drive real easy too.......which is neigh impossible when you have that V8 egging you on.

i figure then leave house on full tank do a topup in close to dover, then ill be close to empty by the time i hit Luxemburg. ok i know where i am now :)
it will be very impossible to take it easy once i hit Germany and the Ring!

400 miles to a tank cruising?? surely more?? i get that in mine but i thought the 4.2 was more economical....

Just remember when your QP tells you it is time to fill up it means it.

I had the low fuel warning in Northumberland National Park last summer, there weren't many garages around so I had no choice but to press on, when I eventually found a filling station (which wasn't very far away but felt much further) I managed to fill it within four litres of its full capacity.

Four litres remaining was probably, what, 15 miles range remaining?

Assuming the QP has a similar size tank to the GT - 86 litres - you'll manage 300 miles before you start to get twitchy and 350 before you know that passing the next petrol station is not an option. I don't fancy sucking 4 years of fuel tank dirt into the engine. On a steady run I can get 23 to the gallon, with a really sedate pace 25. Apparently if you leave it in ice mode you can average comfortably over 25 on a run. Apparently... Anyway, my fuel tank lasts longer between breaks than my bladder.

Prostate ehhhhh Adam......lol..........not sure about the ICE mode....end up shortening the clutch life surely?

I was actually thinking about starting a thread like this today. I am interested in the fuel economy we are getting in our marque across the continents and whether the fuel quality is different from country to country.

Today i filled up for AUD$1.54/lt for 98 RON. With that fuel I am getting 19lt/100 km.

I am not driving like too much of an idiot (you really can't help it every now and then can you).

What is everyone else getting in terms of economy (can't really use that word can we) consumption, yes consumption. Much better. :)

Richard......its not something I focus on....its a small part of the price you pay to own one.....so if I drive it hard...reckon on 14/15......average across country roads 18/19......on motorway, no endless gear changes....21/22

'bout the same, then, Frank. And I think you're right about clutch wear in Ice mode. Besides, it's dull and doesn't sound as nice as Shout mode.

PS - I prefer to blame the frequency of my "de-fuelling" stops on a glut of coffee rather than any age-related factors...

All it does in ICE mode is to allow much more time on the clutch......so you end up riding the clutch all the time

I put petrol in mine when it needs it, mpg ..... not sure , last run I worked it out about 16mpg. Not worried about it , if I was would get a Prius or something. Other car's an ML55 which Mrs allandwf averages 14mpg!!! so.... take the Maserati as the economical option :)

Don't get me wrong guys. I couldn't give a flying wombat about fuel consumption. I'm just curious if there is a difference between continents. P, I assume that your mileage is MPG?

Also curious about avg prices per litre.

I don't think you have any chance of doing it on one tank - on my QP it would be almost two tanks for that distance. About 350 on a tank seems to be about average for me.

Exactly my sentiments too. Cost of depreciation on say a new Focus is significantly more than the depreciation and fuel I put into my QP. And I'm driving a QP, which is easily worth paying for :)

Thank you guys!

tbh i dont really care about what the MPG is but i kinda do need to know at the same time so i can judge how many fill ups i need to make, in the 159 i could do that distance in one hit + most of the way back, in my 156 i could get most of the way there before a fill up.
what i didnt want to do was Try and get to say Lux and find myself on the side of the road because ive run out! so its always best to know what she can and cant do.

oh and believe it or not but the best place to fill up around me is a Shell MOTORWAY service station in bridgend they average 3pence per lt less than the Supermarkets.

and cheapest place in western Europe to full up is Lux lol
