Sorry if this has been covered but I did do a search ...........

I keep getting mixed messages about which fuel I should use on my 2015 Ghibli S.

E5 or E10 ?

Can anyone give me a definitive answer please ?

Thanks in advance.

Ian.

The Ghibli S should be ok on either.

Some people swear blind that they get more power, responsiveness or economy out of 98 so use either and form your own opinion.

For a 2015 car it will be fine with E10, as all post 2007 cars are ok with E10.

But...as above, E5 may well give you better performance AND economy mitigating the extra cost of the fuel. Certainly my preference in any car.

Also as above try it and see. E10 will be safe in a car of that year, E5 may still be a better choice.

I'm not putting E10 in anything because I think the government are lying ***** , it's not as if E5 is much more expensive on a full tank

Esso E5 in most of the country has no ethanol at all so that's what I'd be using

Thank you all for your replies; I'll try both and see if there's any noticeable difference.
If not, then I might as well stick with one, probably E10, as it's far more accessible nearby.

It can be much more expensive.
Certainly with BP it varies between an extra 10p or 30p, depending on how greedy the owner of the particular garage is!

Good and bad over here, we don't have E10 fuel yet but then again we don't have 98R Super either

I read something somewhere that European governments are campaigning to reduce the E in petrol because of the grain shortage caused by the war in Ukraine - now wouldn’t that be great

Tesco momentum was 6p last time I went in , I usually fill up at costco where E5 is the same price as E10 elsewhere but just lately it's been mobbed like it was £1 a litre

The queue for the petrol station was so bad on sunday it blocked the main road , it's probably less than £5 saved on most cars

Whatever you do, don’t use cheap supermarket petrol - I made that mistake and my beloved Ghibli S made her objections clear: she popped and banged to communicate her disgust! I know what you’re thinking - it was completely my fault.

Marios (Autoshield) kindly phoned Maserati for me as the diagnostics were throwing up no clues. They asked what fuel I was using, and my shameful conduct was exposed!

Stick to the Prosecco - she won’t like the Lambrini …

While being credible he'd be more credible if he dropped the political bias. Lots of claims with no quantification. He's also only apparently concerned about getting max power.

In the same way he thinks that someone's relatives own a bio-ethanol refinery, I wonder how much he's getting from Esso ;)

He may be knowledgeable, but Christ is he boring in his delivery... and must only be able to remember 3 lines if the editing is anything to go by.

I'd rather park my car up than put E10 in it.

My wife knows nothing about cars and even she noticed her non maserati car not running right on that E10 rubbish....hers is a 2020 car
