I wanted to bring the car to work today as its lovely and It needed a drive.

Put petrol in and the button got stuck, the flap closes but opens again.
I tried to push the button out as its stuck in but it wont. Now same has happened with the boot!

What can I do?

new switch time. I think you probably need to disconnect them at the back.

Sounds like spring has gone, or got stuck, inside switch unit, disconnect the wires from the back of the switch, if there is a risk of them touching, tape them up..!!

Mine did this, was the solenoid and not the switch as I first thought. When you pulled the battery did the flap lock closed?

Strike that! Didn't read the first post correctly, the button is broken. It actually all comes apart very easily; if the spring isn't broken you should be able to fix it simply enough; worth trying before buying new?
