Fuel and oil

Not wishing to sound too nerdy but does anyone have a best fuel for our Maserati engines?
I always use super unleaded E5 but is say Tesco 99 octane better or worse than Shell/Esso/BP 97 octane?
Also with oil technology moving on since our engines were conceived 20 odd years ago is it best to stick to Shell helix 5w40 that was around then or the latest Millers oil CFS.

I use Tesco Momentum 99, it is just personal preference as modern engines will run on pretty much anything. Personally I fell if I'm paying a hefty premium I want the 95 - 99 lift for my money over a 95 - 97. Companies will tell you it is all about the detergents etc. but if you see modern cars run on 95 all of their life at 100k, there really isn't a lot of coke on the inside.

I would suggest you are better off changing your spark plugs more frequently than instructed... Oh and using an independent who will actually change your air filter for you!

I pretty much concur with Newton on fuel, as for the oil that Millers oil looks ok. It's fully synthetic and they've been in and around the racing paddocks for years. So must know their stuff.
