So they're talking of selling off the family silver, and all because they've over-extended themselves on a monstrous (and presumably leveraged) pile of fools gold. I can see the (general) logic, as if spent wisely the cash raised by a public offering will in turn raise much more revenue than Ferrari alone ever will, but I very much doubt Chrysler can be considered a wise place to spend hundreds of millions of dollars. The US economy is on it's knee's and will be for some considerable time. Unemployment is high and borrowing is nigh on impossible to secure (sound familiar). Just the right time to take a massive punt on the US volume motor market........ NOT.

There again if I put my skeptical hat on, Marchionne is simply doing this as a way to gauge the value of his business so that he can go back to his current investors and negotiate new terms and lending facilities. Just look what it did to the share price, how very convenient. Hmmmm I'm a curious orange.
