Facelift or not?

I was looking to buy a part from ebay. It seems to suggest that the part is for 4200 facelift cars starting 2005. I thought my car was the 4200 facelift version, but was first registered October 2004. Is there a definitive way of finding out whether my car is facelift or not? Any input appreciated.

GS style front bumpers and the 5 spoke alloys is the usual give away. Also I think the gear surround was a gunmetal colour rather than black on the FL models.

Mind you, Maserati do have a habit of mixing up bits during model revisions and simply use up what’s to hand first.

The gauge faces on the facelift is blue, on the prefacelidt its silver and blue.

As Matt says the front and rear.bumpers are different and the front grille height is higher on a facelift. Shallower on a pre- facelift. Easy obvious sign....unless they have been changed for GS kit which has been done but is very rare.

They did a "revised" model in 2003/2004 with minor tweaks from the early Classico and a full face lift in 2005 - easy to get those mixed up, sounds like you have a revised model

Cup holder in the centre console as above is the give away for the 2004 facelift.

Although, to help confuse matters, some may have swapped out the earlier cigarette lighter unit for the later cup holder. Wasn't there a group buy some time ago or am I thinking someone made their own holder? As Twinspark said - thought facelifts had the blue & white speedo dials.

You could select the colour of the dials on a facelift.

Pre facelift had a bigget ashtray with a script on the lid that often broke off leaving two small holes in the lid.

Facelift had the cupholder built into the center consol and a tiny ashtry.

Iirc its january 2005 onwards production for a facelift model.
