Yes, Benny, pretty meaningless It's an internet meme as well, mostly (by me, at least) used for humour.
The 'It's just a car' thing is a hangover from on of my old usenet forums where it was a standard phrase if something 'bad' had happened. Someone bins their bike: 'It's just a Fazer'. Sounds cruel, but it was understood in that context.
You may be amazed at how many words we use actually are meaningless, when you study semantics. There's whole *swathes* of 'good morning' and 'how are you' which are basically designed to convey the meaning 'I'm alive, are you'
