I can't see anything on the England and Wales DVLA site that echoes this so perhaps its just in NI that they want to keep things quiet.

Surely if it still passes that test, IVA or whatever you call it then it's legal regardless. What was it 99dB from a foot away or something ?

Personally, I can't think why anyone would do such a thing. Nothing to see here!

And if you have valved rear boxes, what if the old open pipes were louder than the new closed pipes? Just don't push sport when going to the m.o.t....

Do manufacturers publish noise levels? And if do, when did they start?

My GTS had an advisory for a loud exhaust but it passed, that was with the valves closed - Larini's devil work once more!
