Hi All,
Having the dreaded difficult starting issue and the engine fans constantly running. Going to to change the MAF sensor and cheap reply however it looks like I may need to change the Engine Temp sensor as well looking at previous conversations.
Am I doing the right thing? Also...
Does anyone have link/instructions on how to replace.

Kind regards,
Danny.

Not sure how similar the 4200 is to the 3200 but when my cooling fans seemed to run all the time, one of them was not working, bad connector. Fixed the connector (replace them both for good measure) and this cured it, Just a thought.

Connections seem fine but will double check.

read up on here and is often the cause of starting issues.
New one on me too...the cars run without them!
Typically, ( hot ) start issues can be temp sensor, vapour purge valve, vapour canister, crank position sensor....

Temp sensor on eBay.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303209617216

Remove front wheel ( right side) and arch liner, you can just about reach the sensor this way....

Hi thank you for the reply. When you say right hand side do you mean drivers side on a right hand drive vehicle, offside.
I will look into the crank position sensor as well as I do often get a misfire at idle but could be just a coil pack playing up trouble is nothing comes up on my OBD2 diagnostic.

Hi,

I was having issues with hot start and the cooling fans running constantly. The ecu recorded a fault code saying that the engine was slow to warm up. I changed the temp sender and the thermostat at the same time so I can't say what which was causing the problem but it did solve it. I try the temp sender first though as it's cheap.

Details here;

ETA, Ah right, getting old and my memory appears to be shot. It seems that the thermostat was the problem, not the sender.
