Me thinks we need to ressurrect VBird for an oil thread , he used to manage reams and reams on the subject , from memory most used to think it was only crucial for the 3200 model , the rest of the models will cope very well on the manufactures standard recomendation , its called a handbook , please dont lower and degrade men any further so that women can once again spurn laughingly at us , that even with our pride and joys we can be bothered like MFI furniture to read the **** instructions

It doesn't matter what weight or type of oil you use as long as you change it every day.

I found that some oils foam in my 4200. You can see it on the dipstick. It makes it hard to read the oil level and, more so, foaming causes lubrication problems (check Internet). I now use Pennzoil 5W40 and don't see any foaming. https://www.pennzoil.com/en_us/performance/automakers/maserati.html
