I can buy into this BUT if you use VPower 99 RON etc. or similar I would imagine it is redundant.
Not if it is DFI. The valve never gets washed irrespective of the fuel quality, hence the build up. The only true and comprehensive way to remove the build up is to remove the head and polish/clean it out. No additive or walnut/chemical/hydrogen clean can remove it properly.

The QP5 does not have direct injection...thankfully. So as Chrisb2015 above asks....just what exactly is being cleaned?

When I took the mustang in for the first service they asked me if I wanted the optional carbon cleaning doing at at discounted price, er no it's only done 4000 miles, I'm getting the feeling I'm going to be asked again on the next service.

I wonder how many say yes

Add a zero to your mileage and it might be worth it, depending on the process they are proposing.

Can't get much better than a mobile decoke smiling and grinning all the way.

In all my years in the trade I have done many. Used to love it when the customer says that the car goes so much better what have you done ?
Couldn't tell them that you had wrung it's neck ;)

Is it the same for the Grancabrio - so no direct injection?

Because I'm curios, wikipedia says that all models of the Granturismo and Grancbrio are DI-Engines and I would like to buy one of the latest non DI engines available.
