Morning all, just surfaced after going to bed at 9 last night.
I think I am getting too old to drive all day, drink for 10 hrs, sleep for three hours, race all day and drive for 4 hours home again.
Especially as I got 10 mins from the circuit to hear a heavy knocking coming from the front left. The tyre was knackered so I just pushed on and got on the M4. Things started to get really bad and the knocking turned into a banging.
I thought I had ripped a drive shaft gaiter and all the grease had drained out, had a delaminating tyre, or it was a collapsing wheel bearing.
Dived into the services to find my wheel nuts had come loose and I was about to loose my front left. Luckily I caught it just in time.
Think I'll be talking to the guy who serviced my car a week ago!
Bloody great fun though. OK I took the family soot chucker bet she did not do too bad. She ran out of puff up the straight but was awesome in the bends.
Really enjoyed it and thanks to Big Chris for sitting in with me an showing me the track, a special thanks to the best sounding car of the day by a country mile, Loz, for letting me take his GS out. Andy for all his organisation, hats off to you fella. David and Miles for helping me prop up the bar till 3am, Tess for all her kind words about the forum, Myles and Emblem for turning up with a fully stocked support van, Paul for wearing the overalls with me and Enzo (fabulous car, loved the parcel shel stitching and belts) and the silly hat, taking the attention off us, Steve, Dan and all the rest of the chaps who made it a brilliant, brilliant weekend.
Still suffering now......a sign of a good time in my books!
