Well, it finally happened. Today the "Tipo" got collected by its new owner. its definately gone to a good home. He has vowed not to polish it, and use it on every possible occasion. Good man. It was a huge amount of fun, and a bit of me will miss it. Right, thats the emotional bit out of the way. I can now finish the planning, build my new 600 sq. ft. workshop at home, and build myself a "Birdcage". On the plus side, I may not fall foul of matt (Conaero) on this occasion with my choice of engine. The original had a slant 4 cylinder engine, and to the best of my knowledge, no powerplant from the Maserati stable fits the bill. So, my choice is a slant 4 cylinder engine, 2.3 litre capacity, and revs to 8500. It also slants the same way as the original, so the exhaust will exit on the correct side. (For a change!!!) All guesses as to the engine of choice feel free.
I would just like to thank everybody on here for the support shown, and the warm welcome given to me when I first finished the "Tipo250". I will keep you posted on progress.

Picked up the engine today. Way to early really, but these dont come around very often. Its another BMW engine, but in my opinion the best they ever made. 2.3 Litre, 16 valve, throttle bodies from the factory, as fitted to an E30 M3 (the proper M3).An absolute screamer.
