Hi all, just wondered if some one could shine some light on why my trip computer has stopped working?
It started a few months ago and I noticed that not only did the trip stop working, the night illumination around the heater controls, window switches etc also wasnt working? while driving the car occasionaly the radio would go louder (attenuator cutting in) and hey presto the trip was working and the illumination at the same time? It appears to have stopped working all together now, so I decided to investigate. I have tried the usual reset, had every thing out of the console and checked connections, been in the armrest to check connections, had all the relays and fuses out and checked them, and to make matters worse I know have a brake fluid/pad warning light and air bag light aswell. Any ideas??
Thanks

Never had the 4200 so am not familiar with this system, but the rule of thumb is, that if you have more than one electrical issue in the same area, check the multiplugs and earths first.

Hopefully it will be something simple and I hope someone will be along who has had a similar issue on a 4200 and can point you in the right direction.

I had same problem, intermittent radio popping or reseting, and warning lights lit up like a Xmas tree.
Problem was simply a loose battery connection. So dammed obvious really but like you I spent loads of time checking fuses first rather than the obvious!
BTW i understand that the multiplug connections by the door hinges are prone to water getting in. Maybe worth a check?
