Drivers seat heater not working

Hi
Ever since I got my 3200 the drivers seat warmer has been inoperative.
Hardly a critical bit of kit but would be nice to fix if I can.
There is 12v power to the seat mounted switch and the switch works fine.
The passenger seat works fine with the seat warming and an indicator on the dash
Anyone know where the fuse is or other common problems with this set up?
Many thanks as always
Ian

I guess this little fella dangling underneath the seat with a broken lead may be part of the problem
Seat out I guess?

ok
so the bit dangling down is the seat diagnostic plug.
The seat slides forwards and back quite a bit and the plugs/wires can get trapped between the mechanism and the carpet, especially if your son happens to jam 2 bottles of lucozade under the passenger seat. Don't even mention the melted sweets - bl**dy kids !!!!
Indeed there is a separate thread where the plug for the main control unit get entangled and mangled.
Anyway I followed another great thread re seat removal - really easy with just four allen key bolts - just be careful you don't gouge the leather interior with the runners as you remove the seat as it is real heavy.
Rest of mechanism looked fine and well lubricated so re installed seat and used some plastic tie locks just to hold the connector plugs out of the way. The diagnostic plugs actually have their own attachment on the seat base although both had been pulled out.
Just make sure when all secure that at full travel nothing of the wires are being strained.
Here is dangly pic of diagnostic plug reattached with wiring plug secured onto front rail of seat.

Anyway that wasn't the cause of the seat heater problem so I went hunting for blown fuses. The seat heater is in the boot fuse box, pointed out below.

Sure enough it was blown. New 7.5 amp fuse and the dash light now suggests the seat is getting hot and there was some slight heating to front edge. Didn't hang around to see how much it warmed up but at 7.5 amp and 12 volts it's not exactly gonna impact global warming !!!

Hopefully fuse stays unblown and another little job done ....

Well done, sir, and thanks for posting the fix. Will help someone else along the line, I'm sure!

My old V90 Volvo estate seat warmer could melt your spine...was almost as hot as my grill in the kitchen.

can beat that,
my old Volvo 850 seat constantly overheated, Volvo didn't believe me until the tech testing it jumped out of the car with a burn mark on his a**e.

Must be a swedish thing, our Saab 95 had 5 heat settings on the switch. Position 1 was too hot for me god knows what 5 was like although the passenger seat one was useful for keeping my Bacon Bap warm ;)
