Hi guys,

First ever post on Youtube, so sorry for the sound quality and the fact its squashed and has an in-bedded advert for the free software!

I know lots of people sing the praise of the alpine passes, but as they are often clogged with cars/bikes/mini-bus etc thought I would share the road I prefer...Route Napoleon from Grenoble to Nice.

Hope you enjoy.

Thank you Peter,
Looks like a fabulous road to try.
Regards,
Enzo.

Just re watching it and recalling 5 hours of roads like that, with some great stop overs for lunch/drinks in a few of the towns on route. Set off at 10:00 am arrived in Nice at 16:30...hmmm could just jump into the car now and do it all again.

Dem,

From Nice we drove to Portafeno over 40 tunnels on the Autostrada on the way down...followed by a trip to Lake Como, again loads of tunnels...and yes sunshine for 2 whole weeks

Nice choice of Youtube name Peter :) Looks like a great road and some of the scenery is just stunning. Makes me wonder whether I should have a re-think for our Italian Lakes odyssey next year, but no matter how clagged up it may be, Stelvio has a draw. Thanks for sharing. Regards, Miles.

If you stay at Bagni di Bormio resort it's at the foot of stelvio -> up at dawn = clear road = bliss!
