Grazie Gentlemen. I have just returned from a quick spin in Maverick's(forum member)4200 car and he just explained the reason why it can not be done...

Also, The 4200 felt lots quicker than my old 3200...

Then your old 3200 wasn't running right, it happens alot with boost etc... Lots of people on here complain about them running a tad poor and then once they sort them out it is a different beast.

I agree with Matt and Dem too, the 3200 because of the way the power is delivered in one bucket load it makes the car a little twitchy and there is real potential to lose the back end when pressing on. Once you get how to drive the 3200 it really does handle well. I think we could put this to the test though on the Centenary track day with a standard 3200 vs 4200.

My old 3200 GTA ran really well, but became even better after I had the cam chains changed and the cam timing done properly - it was out a bit. There is a story that 3200s left the factory with deliberately adjusted cam timing to rein the power back; whether that's true or not I don't know, but my car was undoubtedly more powerful after the settings were checked and corrected.
A standard 3200 that's set up correctly is probably a little quicker than a 4200 in a straight line. As everyone has said, the power delivery is very different - whizz bang with the 3200 and much more linear with the 4200. My GS definitely handles better than my old 3200, but then it should - better weight distribution, lower, stiffer springs, a quicker steering rack and I think the ARBs are thicker (?)

I would agree with most of that, but it was difficult for me to compare the actual performance between the 3200 and the 4200, as the power delivery is very different. The 3200 is manic when the turbo's kick in, but by then the 4200 is a tad in front as it seemed to get away slightly quicker, it's possible that the 3200 then catches up and the midrange is very close in performance. I don't think there is that much in it in reality..!! Handling is a different matter, the AC is excellent and I have not driven another 3200, the 4200 feels slightly more planted at speed, the GS is better again at speed..!! High speed cornering I would maybe go for the AC, it's terrific..!!
