Does anyone else miss jukeboxes in pubs and clubs?

The local covers band murdering Sweet Child O' Mine seems preference over jukeboxes these days.
I'm guessing it creates more of a party atmosphere but being a bit of a party pooper I avoid loud bands in pubs.

Problem with Jukeboxes is you got lots of different peoples musical taste and some of it not good, especially when somebody decides to play the same track over and over again because their boyfriend/girlfriend likes it

But isn’t that better than having to listen to piped music playlists all night based on the barman / barmaids taste.

I miss the randomness of the pub juke box

I'm thinking back to a pub in Newmarket in 1980 called The Palomino. It was a bikers pub but the jukebox wasn't loaded with AC/DC or Deep People etc, just current stuff, bit of rock, soul and c&w,oldies etc. One bloke would come in there of a lunchtime, not a biker but a regular, he would put on about 10 c&w songs and I always guarantee the first song would be Hello Mary Lou by Rick Nelson.

I agree Andy. I have never really go the Coldplay love. Yes they are good song writers but no better than some of the others and they aren’t a very uplifting band. Plus that bloody DHL advert with yellow in it drives me mad. I work for DHL and if you believe they transported all of Coldplay equipment around the world in an electric artic thing again.

Bland, dull and inoffensive sums them up for me.
