Gary out of interest how is the Ghibli pre orders going......Arte people waiting to drive the car or is there a waiting list yet.

I can safely say we have a good few confirmed orders in for the car. Just frustrated customers, and myself, waiting for an official launch date.
And im happy to say a huge list of potential customers, many with the deposit burning a hole in there pockets, waiting to drive the car.
I think our demos are going to have a good few miles on them very quickly.

As for waiting lists, again this does depend on how good your dealer is at pre-ordering cars, luckily for me I have a few cars still available, but i know this will vanish as soon as we have the first few demos.......

And just to let all you know I have today taken a deposit on the Levante, now when do you think I will see that car

Interesting re the Levante. The trouble is that Motorshow launch and UK RHD allocation can be separated by a year then I would want a test drive before finalising spec so that's 18 months after 'launch' before it's in my garage. Strange.

Oh and are we not getting to the stage with the Ghibli diesel where it's better waiting for the twin turbo model that is in development?

I think they are airing on the side of caution there.

Ive quoted one today, customers specification, for delivery early March. (subject to a launch date this year)

But if we waited till the next development for any car we would never own one!

We can never keep up with the way any vehicle evolves in its lifetime.

I tried for years with motorbikes and as soon as I had the latest thing it had been improved again.

Technology and advancement wait for no man, or woman,

I did a lot of this in my time at Mercedes, customers want to be the first own the latest model.

Yes I remember that. Had a few SLs over the years. When the new one came out in 2002 I had to wait 10 months for mine. Those days are gone mind.

That's the date I was given, also, from a separate dealership.

Haven't put my deposit down, as the long (and changing) lead times have taken all the fun out of it so I am going to be all pragmatic and wait for the test drive.

A lot of my customers are feeling the same, which is a shame........and is taking the fun out of it..........but we keep smiling
