Deionised water filter?!? Any good?

I was reading another thread about pressure washers & saywellhq suggested a website below, after a little browsing came across a neat idea negating the need to chamois & drying your car once you've washed it! I was familiar with concept on Matt paintwork but never thought about it as an everyday solution!
Has anyone got any experience using a filter on a hose? Do they have a life? Does it work in practice as well as in theory? Interested in your thoughts & thanks to saywellhq for inadvertently directing me there!
