I have been looking at these over the last few days and must admit I am considering one as an stepping stone into a GTS they will be below £30k next year.

That is probably about the right price for that leather interior with that mileage, which although is no problem, will always be hard to sell on unless you give it away.

It is a bargain indeed, however they won't continue to drop forever - decent DB7s have bottomed out for the last few years and the DB9 will always be worth more than those presumably. Only leggy, poorly looked after or bad taste cars will fetch cheap money and you might then be in for some big bills a-la Maserati. An early, good, low owner/low miles DB9 coupe is still £40k with cheap but good Volantes at £55k and that hasn't moved in a while. However more and more are out of dealer stock now so we'll see what the indies do with the prices.

Very much the cliche but... what a car for the money! Can't help but look at Bentley GTs in the same way, possible image problems or not, it's a lot of engineering for the cash.

Mmm... I really don't care who else owns the same car as me and the interior is fine if it's in the right colour with a little less polished wood... They're lovely but I agree, not for me. Just great VFM at the moment!

Oh, and plenty of d1ckheads with DB9s, I've met a few ;)

Don't personally think the Bentley has that bad an image, most of it's drivers are bearded oldies around these parts. It's not a young man's car but doesn't have a bad reputation which spoils the appeal of an otherwise great car. The RS4, M3, Subaru Impreza, Evo, Lexus kind of stigmas are difficult to argue with. All great cars in their own right but you wouldn't own one. The rep of a GT or a DB9 wouldn't put me off. Neither of them, for me, as father of a young one needing some space, are as good a value as a Gransport at £15k less for equivalent age car. DB9 is cramped in the rear and the Bentley is very dear to run from what I've heard too.

Bentley is a fortune Dicky, W12 engine is not cheap to keep in tip top condition and dealer rates per hour are sky high. Agree, the Gransport does the same job for 15k less.

A DB9 with a factory DBS bodykit looks very nice, change the wood for black piano wood and you have a great looking car, oh and new wheels of course same as Lewis....

Just changed my VW Phaeton and it was the bland looks that eventualy made me change it. Wonderfully put together with all the gadgets and the interior very similarly laid out to the Bentley Gt which shares the same chassis.
Anyway changed the Phaeton for a Lexus 600h , yes i know not a style icon but just couldn`t resist all the buttons! plus surely i must be carbon neutral now with that and my Spyder!!!

No such thing as a factory bodykit for DB9 at the moment though you can technically buy DBS carbon/fibreglass bidy panels. The only panel that is a straight swap is the bonnet (and probably the bootlid on a coupe) - since it was lighter and had extra venting for the engine, I fitted one. The rest of the panels require quite major work, there's more to the DBS than most people think... A chap posted a thread after doing the conversion on PH, reckons the body panels were £20k plus labour and paint, all in all doubled the price of his car. A lot of money for a pretend DBS! He got roasted as well, not positive although it was a very high quality job. This is the chap http://www.paragondesignuk.com/astondb9.htm

The only option is the Kahn kit and that's not for everyone. Never seen a car with it fitted, guess those owners don't come to meets ;)

My wheels are standard Aston Sports Pack forged wheels - eBay jobbie!

Have looked at the DB9 myself for a while as I do not see the GS as good value against a 4200 [10k+] for little performance improvements or looks...£32+ for a car that retailed at £100k+ and better MPG than a masser...still I do love the trident???????? ow what to do????

Get another 4200cc Peter you know it makes sense such good value for money.
Hope life treating you well mate.
