Anyone taken the whole dash out? I'm keen to recolour the top of mine and it looks like the top is all part of the main assembly, judging from the attached photos.

RichardS .... post some pictures of the inside of the car, it's interesting to know what it looks like without the dash . What is your game plan here? Wrapping the dash or a Paint finish.

I haven't decided if I'm brave enough to do it myself yet! I'm weighing up trying it myself versus paying a proper vehicle trimmer/upholsterer.

The original owner of my GT seemingly had a cream/beige obsession; cream carpets, beige leather and dash (including the top) and cream headlining!

I want to bring some contrast to the interior, so I have black carpets to go in (complete OEM set) and I want to get the top and bottom sections of the dash in black too, I think.

Initially I was planning on covering the dash with something as close to the look/feel of the original stuff or maybe alcantara. However, I've seen that you can get good results from spraying interior panels. The SEM Color Coat stuff looks like the kind of thing I need.

So, the challenge is how to do that most effectively. If the top is all part of that main dashboard assembly then I would have to take the whole thing out. Spraying the top in situ would be tricky due to the difficulty getting to the parts close to the windscreen.

Conaero and Zep looked at it in when we were at Auto Italia in Brooklands and suggested maybe taking the screen out to gain access to the top of the dash.

I was just interested to know if anyone else has attempted either approach.
