Hi Davy
I would be interested in getting a copy of what you did to produce a contactless pedal sensor assuming you don't have any already made up. I think it would benefit my 3200 GT car which seems to have some of the symptoms of wear. My email is p.carey@xtra.co.nz. Thanks.

Regards
Peter

Sorry was not keeping an eye on this, yes I have 2 or 3 in stock at the moment and I also have a couple for 4200 looking for a test vehicle. In terms of passing on the information on how i made it, I got a reputable rotary sensor manufacturer to make a contact free optical sensor with identical outputs to the analogue Bosch unit and then designed a series of machined parts to create the rotary coupling, used a precision sealed rotary bearing for the main sensor shaft suspension, had a spring company make up some springs for the return, worked out angles and end stops and had a machine shop make all the machined parts, assembled them, worked out what didn't work and made some more, and now have a design which seems to work well. The 4200 version is the same mechanical outline but has different electrical outputs. I hope this explains it?

Just some one willing to try it. I got the rotary transducers made specially, and I have established the output is identical to the standard unit. But since I have a 3200 I cant test it in anger!!! Ideally I would like some one to measure the output from their existing sensor with a meter (i can supply one if its a problem) and then replace it with the new unit and measure it again make sure I got it right! and then if it all looks ok, drive around with it a bit and make sure there are no niggly problems. I would be open to some attractive financial arrangement for any one willing to be a guinea pig :)

I am not even sure why I bothered since the 4200 unit is a lot cheaper if I remember, compared to the cost of the 3200 unit. These are contact-less and should outlive the car easily and I think are more repeatable so introduce more reliable performance so it should be better I think.

Anyone in the mood for a little adventure let me know.

What do you need for the 4200, Davy?
