Just thought I'd contribute to the thread drift.....

Anyway back on topic. Having a black car with a dirty great white stripe down the middle of it gives the best of both worlds, in that it's swirly on the black bits complete with blood red splotches from wildlife hitting the white parts. That said, the white bit is easiest to maintain and is more forgiving with swirls. But the bit that neither shows the swirls or the dirt is the little metalic gold stripe... So maybe Gold is the new White, which was the new Black.
