i like to browse sometimes through auto trader and look at cars and prices, its shocking that for a year they have not fallen, as we know the gs is holding value but so is the granturismo and looking at the gallardo at 60k and the aston vantage at 40k they were the same last year
i saw bentleys for 40k last year and they 40k now
my 3200 has good value also, can anyone name a car thats lost value?? with my luck when im ready to buy they will be high and when i want to sell they will be low

You're looking at the advertised price Dem, not the selling price.

That Black 56 plate GS I told you about the other week didnt even reach £28k!

They're all on the verge of losing as not much is selling now. Maseratis, astons, bentleys etc. Nothing's dropped as you say but prices in trade are very low now.

But Dem, the plus side to that is that I bought my GS 18 months ago, and its still worth what I paid for it, swings and roundabouts my friend.

Just look at the cars for sale and you will see lots that have been for sale for months and months.....Winter on the way prices will not stay strong for long...

I suspect the prestige car market may take a bit of a caning in the coming months as the "real" recession, bites, by which I don't mean the economic measure of falling growth, but the real-life effect of rising unemployment, a stifled mortgage market and the curtailing of many lucrative govt contracts in the private sector. Expect flat/falling house prices, repossessions increasing in six months + time and all in all a bit of a rubbish time.

On the flip side when you think about the sheer volume of great cars built over the last ten years, there should be some cracking used buys. Not my cup of tea per se but I reckon you won't be able to give away early Cayenne Turbos in a year's time!! DB's are plentiful, 911's, 4200's, 360's even - there's tons of supply, and I reckon demand will be pretty weak.

In that case Paco im gonna buy up all the sizal rope i can and sell it on ebay in 6 metre lengths complete with sliding noose, and the profit i make i will invest in Undertaker shares , ther's always a positive angle there somewhere if you look hard enough and willing to diversify

Ha ha ok I may be a little on the pessimistic side, but that sure is a recession-proof industry!! Mind you I reckon the funeral business is more "organised" than a Sicilian trade fraternity ;o)
