Is it me or am I the only one who has a wife with no interest in cars whatsoever. She thinks I am spending too much time looking at car websites, being in car clubs, going to fields with cars in, cleaning the car...

The brief when I floated the idea of buying a Maserati was "I don't care so long as it's an auto".

Duo Select has an auto mode; brief fulfilled. :)

"As long as it makes you happy. Oh, and doesn't ruin us" was the response I got when my partners in crime (two sons) first floated the idea of chopping in our oil burning Merc for a Maser. I have been accused of spending far too much time cleaning it and have elected (wisely, in my opinion) to not argue that I'm preserving the value and hence mitigating the financial burden of having such a d*mn fine car. Anyway, secretly she loves it. She's as keen as the rest of us to take the Maser whenever we go somewhere. The poor old Verso's starting to feel like the ugly duckling.

Re Frank's comment re hotpants.. sounds like some kind of call for a Readers' Wives / Daisy Duke look-a-like thread...

Last time i mentioned something about video cams etc, I was reminded quite quickly, who wore the trousers, and who had the loudest bark!
Now, all i need is a blue tooth connection, for recorder, and the secret recording, can begin!:dance2::thumb1:

Mine is a girl im proud of....
When i met her she knew nothing at all about cars abd was about to buy a new megane convertible.....

My knowledge and taste has rubbed off on her and she now wants cars with flair, not audis or mercs....she sats she will only buy a 4x4 when alfa make one, and not the crsppy engines they use in the brera but a new line up of engines!!

Told her bout the maser and she said no! Too yankee for her....

Loves going to meets (mainly asks if miles otherhalf linda is going first though) so changing her slowly

I bore my wife ( Lucy) as it's my day to day work, I did beforehand anyway. She really appreciates the cars, especially Quattroportes. She's not a fan of Gransports as she doesn't like paddles. She's had a few nice cars over the years, XK8, 911, Boxster S, 350Z, Z4M, S2000's, 2 Alfas (GTV & 159) now drives a Cooper S Turbo and loves it. Drove a Rover 214 when I met her, I had a Polo, so we've grown into them together. Dream car is an R8 but that changed when she saw the GTS MC Shift on Monday :)

My mrs knew I was a car nut before we got together, so she is very understanding and she knows I will always have something a bit different in the garage.

Ditto.

She likes going to shows in the Stag, usually they are at nice places, parks, country houses etc so good for the kids to play and have a nice picnic etc.
Didn't really use my Lotus Elise much, too impractical especially after having 2 kids, hence why the swop to the Maser.
Was really after a Porsche 928 (as a kid, poster on wall, car of the year '77), but couldn't find a good enough example, then with the drop in value of the 4200, it came within grasp. Always liked the 3200, but reliability was always a niggle, sorry!
The Mrs then said the Maser was more me, always had Alfa's, Lancia's in the past, and that the Porsche was far too common and boring!
