I'm very local to this, and have read in the local paper that there will be a parade through the streets of 100 Maseratis to start the whole thing off... Does anyone know anything about this? Can we get involved etc? I haven't seen anything about it anywhere else...

I believe Maranello and the Maserati Club will have organised it. I know a few people who are involved with it. I'm finding the organisers a bit slack as I've been trying to sort the same at Carfest North and don't seem to be getting anywhere.

Thinking about going - anyone got any more info?

We have tickets for the weekend but have no idea if there is any Maserati involvement for the southern event.

A few pics from my first ever visit to CarFest today (hello again to Ian and to a new member who I believe has just joined the forum):

I had the passenger seat of a 911 Turbo yesterday rather than taking the Mas, and must say that this was a brilliant event with a good atmosphere, a very eclectic mix of cars and clubs, and a superb convoy around the area with police waving us through red lights! It's not in the Goodwood league but it is big enough to attract celebs thanks to Chris Evans' involvement (like him or not you can't deny his contacts and car collection). When the car side winds down in the afternoon it's followed by live performances: http://www.carfest.org/Content/Rock-N-Roll-1-2-3-4

There was a Maserati presence including a formal Maserati UK stand, though not on the scale that I was expecting for the Centenary, and as for the 100 strong convoy of Maseratis, well who knows?

The organisers charged around £500+VAT per pitch (tent provided), and you are allowed a maximum of 7 cars per day, so if you rotate the attendance over the 3 days you potentially have 21 lucky participants. If it's wet you get soaked as there's little cover (this is a working farm), and if it's sunny you get burnt like me, but either way you should have a good time.

Club pitches are booked well in advance, so is anyone interested for 2015, either as Sportsmaserati if Matt permits or as a private collective with shared cost?

Speaking to someone about this, the seven should be the same for all days and it's done on wrist bands, so it would take people not fitting their.band too tight and having to swap each night, I think the logistics would mean 21 different people taking a day each wouldn't work. It's worth the split between seven people though all the same. I think I would still be with Sporting Bears if they'll have me....

Just returned from a fantastic weekend which we really enjoyed.

I have to say I was a bit shocked at the lack of Maserati's given the the 100 year celebrations. The dealer stand was ok but not great and there was no club stand etc. It was good to see there were a few owners there although I did not get the chance to chat to any.

I did come away thinking it would be good to organise a stand for next year either for Maserati's or maybe a mix.

A great event which is well worth a visit with the added bonus that it is all for a good cause!

I spoke to the people on the Maranello stand and they had no idea about any parade. There was a parade, but only a handful of Maseratis were in it, it was all the other car clubs mixed up with the sevens that were in the main paddock. Strange given that the local press even reported that there would be 100 Maseratis!
