They only made 2 convertibles / roadsters just for the film and they didn't have a roof just a cover making it look like they did. They only made 351 Coupes and prices for these have rocketed they peaked at close the £1m but now seem to be around £700k when they come up
I guess that’s why the one in the photo has an elastic band round it - to stop the scuttle shake after the roof was chopped.

Later gen but this was up for Auction at the weekend.

I had a GTE and then got the exclusive, which was at Courtney Turbos for water injection and their engine mods but sadly that was the last time I saw the car complete, it got stolen. All I got back was the car with no wheels, stereo gone, doors cards and rear spoiler gone...

very nice car... I looked at that and was abit gutted I missed the bidding, until I saw the closing bid - HOW MUCH DID THAT GO FOR - £21k - you could have got an i200 or maybe i400 for that a year ago. why is every thing going mad - I was on ebay and been looking at an item which was going for about £300 last year, the one over the weekend went for £650 and another one that came on as buy it now sold for £900.
so if you have a classic or some limited edition stuff then maybe good time to sell ?

I think things have softened a little I was surprised it didn’t get to the high 20s. But yep things have gotten a little silly. When you see RWD escorts for £50k you know things have gone nuts.

I worked for a company in the mid 1980s when the three founders sold the business. Two Testarossas (and a BMW M1) were delivered to the office carpark the next day. The CEO was asked whether it was a bit insensitive for the staff who had just been sold off to new (American) masters, and he said, "They should have their heads down working, not be looking out of the forking windows."

I also had an Opel Manta, technically it was the families but I learnt to drive in it, took my test in it, and promptly wrote it off!
It was a 1.9SR Berlinetta coupe. Gold, chrome bumpers, rostyle wheels, black vinyl roof.

Thanks and don't worry I know all about Avengers and rust. My first car back in 1980 was a 1975 Avenger 1300DL in Prairie Wind (Beige!) We had to weld all the floors and sills back in at only 5 years old using old metal shelving. When it went in for an exhaust they kept jacking the front of the car up and the wheels stayed on the ground! I actually part exchanged that car in a private deal for the Mark 2 Jaguar :)

This Avenger will be OK, fully restored and exhibited at the NEC 4 years ago (and yes it is a proper Tiger with all the right bits in all the right places)....

A Sundance Yellow would have been first choice but one day I will also get myself a MK I Tiger which was only available in that colour. This is a MK II which came in Sundance or Wardance (Red) and is rarer in the Wardance. Around 400 built in total.

Need to get a set of Dunlop SP1s for it (£200 a corner!)View attachment 77278View attachment 77279View attachment 77280

Absolutely stunning Tiger . I’m amazed how many on here like these... was always my “one day“ car ever since as a 12 year old car-mad lad I went with my Dad when he bought a near new Sundance MK2, I simply loved that car... the noise the acceleration . Just everything I wanted. Sadly it caught fire on a journey home and was reduced to pile of molten metal.. . Then about 10 years ago I finally took the plunge and bought a restored Sundance Mk 1, but sadly the reality never matched the rose tinted memories and after 5 years I sold it and bought a Clio V6 which I still have. another “one day” car but from my 40s .

I’ll start, TR7 Sprint in white.

Also a TR7 for me, fell in love with the futuristic shape and pop up headlights as a small boy. Then I discovered they made them with a V8 and decided one day I would own a real TR8.

It couldn't be a conversion and so once I could I kept my eye open for a genuine production car to come up for sale and a few years ago I acquires RDU 35W which is car number 1 from the run of only 18 RHD TR8 convertibles. It is the car the TR7 always should have been and is actually extremely good to drive.

Lancia Fulvia and very early Jaguar XJS, one down one to go

Well when you decide to scratch the early XJ-S itch give me a shout, I have a very early 'P' reg with the small mirrors etc.,.. low miles and lots of history in the launch car red with tan interior spec and it is a manual. I don't intend to sell it at the moment but who knows in the future!

Since the 70's I'd always lusted after a full fat Range Rover. Watched them evolve over the years into the finest luxury off road vehicles by far. 3 years ago when I was potentially in a position to achieve my dream, I started looking around at what was available for the budget (not new obviously) - but definitely wanted a petrol V8. BUT looking around, and having been working in London - there are literally hundreds of them everywhere, and LR have managed to fill in every small niche from the Evoque upwards - they are everywhere and somehow I felt they weren't really special anymore ('cos everyone got one!). Their reliability reputation is also horrendous (I'm sure there are good ones too) so I'd never have heard the last of it from swmbo if it was going to be broken all the time.
AND THEN I spotted Maserati - not a marque I'd even had anywhere near the radar - but special? - ohhh yes, common? ohh no. There are probably as many Maserati's for sale in the UK as there are RR's for sale within 10 miles of me... fell in love and never looked back . Still wouldn't mind a RR though ;)

I was buying and selling at this event as usual. I think it made £22.5k before auction fees.........and an escort RS 1600i made £31k plus fees. Wating for the website to confirm all the results. The Maser 4200 with the round rear lights made about £9k I think

I have had 3 Range Rovers and not one was unreliable and used them all for work and pleasure probably one of the Best tow vehicles ever.
My last 08 4.2 petrol in New Zealand we drove the whole Country in it North and South Islands including Skippers Road and Canyon one of the World's most dangerous roads.
Will have another without a doubt.

Looks fantastic - I could probably track that car down as it is a small community of owners (not many left). Did it have the original engine etc.?

There was a chap who lived near us when I was a kid who had a Manta GT/E. I could never work out, knowing Opel and Vauxhall were merged, why it existed, but I liked it better than our Cavalier Coupe.

Agree Zep....Opel has a much better ring to it than Vauxhall....They should changed the name to Opel Back then in this country....
