CAR AUCTIONS

Yes, I agree, £75k is too optimistic for a private sale post auction failure ... If I had a spare £75k for a manual 360 I'd take a serious look at this one:

The impression that I am getting is that when buying from Richard, it's as close as to brand new as you can get... Which makes the £75k private sale post auction look even more laughable... You would think these people would do their homework and check where the Trade is offering excellent cars backed up by warranties/reputation/finance/service departments etc...

Can’t understand why this Manual 360 Modena only made just over £40k, and didn’t sell. I did think the auctioneer’s £80-90k landing zone was far too high and perhaps that put people off, or maybe the market is now running out of steam … or should I say cash(?)!

Update: email just received advising that it’s now on a Buy it Now of £75k …
These online auctions are so hungry for “stock” they let the owners dictate ridiculous reserves, although would have been a steal at around £40k

There’s no reason not to think the auction car is a great example, and is lower mileage than any others on the market. So compared to others, £75k isn’t so daft. Of course, we’d all love to buy it for less. But that doesn’t make the asking price “wrong”, and there’s no harm in making an offer if you are in the market for a very low mileage, low owner, manual 360 in the traditionally most popular colour.

I’ve been looking at 360s for a while and see quite a gap opening up between expectations and the market. The car above is an extreme example (£40-70k difference) but serves to illustrate. Asking prices from last year are now being quite heavily reduced because cars aren’t shifting. I think now could be a good time to buy a car at a discounted price …

Agreed with timing. A lot of cars are “cheap” now compared with a couple of years ago.

But there’s a big price difference between a low mileage, manual F360 in top condition, and a higher mileage paddle-shift in average condition. The former could be twice the price of the later. I know which I’d rather have, and would be willing to pay the difference.

The problem with "looking" at 360 is missing 80% of the deal.
When did you last properly listen to one? Been well over ten years but I can still remember the feeling, almost like early days working on aircraft radar and (accidentally)touching the 7kv terminal.
You don't get that from any modern ( turbo or hybrid) kit, unless via speakers.

I did that on a rad alt, the smell of burnt flesh........
cannot remember which radar, just remember being the last one to collect test kit. One of my probes has missing insulation. First time I measured I thought I had just pricked my finger............. so went back for a second peck. Only very low current so just made my arm reach for the skies. :D

that's lovely, would of loved bidding on this, but the extortionate 10% duty and 20% vat kills it for me, another 7 years and it's only 5 % vat and no import duty
There's also a Sebring "project"...and a Bora:
