CAR AUCTIONS

One of 25 RHD IIRC
It’s interesting that the performance and power figures of the Karif are shrouded in myth and legend. The press cars were boosted in power to impress journalists at launch and the figure of 285bhp is often quoted. It’s believed that factory engineers just turned up the boost and hoped the engines would last for the duration of the publicity events. However, production cars just had the standard export market 2.8 18v engine with 250bhp in non-cat form, and 225bhp in the cat equipped version for markets such as Switzerland. Customers could specify the full fat 285 bhp version by special request but in doing so, Maserati would no longer provide a warranty.

Always remember Gavin Green’s account for CAR

It didn't help that the owner of these Masersatis had had them all repainted red, when none of them were red originally. Originality means a lot in the collector market, so there's a good chance the buyer(s) were financially allowing to repaint them their correct colours.
But I agree, the Bora, Indy and Merak all went through "cheaply".

Quite an attractive car that's sure to be a bit different as it's a Lancia, and under £15k as it's on a no reserve auction; reminds me of a Fiat 130 Coupe although it's not quite as handsome as one of those. Bodywork looks quite sharp on the exterior but appears to be covered with underseal under the bonnet and in the boot; merits a good inspection ...

It might not be as "handsome" as a 130 but it will be a shed load cheaper to maintain and run and will probably drive better. The Flavia is a beautiful tourer with classic 60s Pininfarina styling for a fraction of the cost. That mileage is almost certainly not the firstime round the clock and it looks like it needs a bit of TLC in a number of places a good check up required before bidding.

It's in the UK...

C'mon...someone here needs this!
It’s not really in the UK as “taxes not paid”. There’s also all manor of issues registering Pur-Sang cars here, if it’s accurate enough you might be able to race it but a lot of the clubs would frown upon it.
