I may be behind the times, but found CAN Injection: keyless car theft an interesting, if slightly alarming, read.

While the write up illustrates a Toyota RAV4, a quick search shows a video demonstration of such a device for Maserati/Chrysler 2012-2021 available on social media

A very interesting and scary read indeed!

Judging by the discussions I had with Autowatch we don’t have to worry with the GranTurismo as the CAN adoption is limited at best, but that’s not to say it won’t be applicable to the more modern vehicles in the stable.

My wife has a Range Rover Sport, our renewal was in May and thankfully didn’t go up too much.

We do live worryingly close to London, so I’m expecting the price to increase next year.

A guy at work who lives in London bought a Range Rover FF, I warned him to get a faraday case or ghost system. It got stolen in less than 2 weeks !! He lost 10k via insurance payout due to some small print !

...and in CAN injection, the faraday cage wouldn't have helped. Ghost might not be a bad idea

It seems fine. Car is 9 months old and fitted Ghost 6 months ago. Still tbc whether it helps on insurance renewal

Thanks for the info, as the only other device is something I saw on Alfaowner related to the radar. Have been trying to find something suitable as sometimes it is in a vulnerable position and it's a heritage colour so stands out.
Will find a local installer and get more details.

Thank you
