Can I just clarify I was referring to the GS, not the 4200. The screen is much larger in the 4200, so yes archaic, but readable at least.

Even more useless down here in Oz Frank, they sell the unit but there are no Australian maps to load. Maybe they did Austria and thought that was close enough

It annoys me not having the phone option, with redundant buttons, but no sat nav as well would really annoy me on the 4200 info display.
I used the sat nav to guide me to a little village in North Yorkshire on Friday. Was amazed it was in the database (unlike Apple Maps...) and my friend in his 997 Turbo got lost, with his mega fancy Porsche system! So it does do the job, when needed!

Thanks, so it as useless as I suspected

I have a Becker Indianapolis and whilst it may not be the hieght of technological progress its not that bad. For a single DIN size it is quite neat and I've found it usable when necessary. I'm not sure if I'd care to rely on it day in day out but its ok. I do wonder about the availability of updated discs for the UK going forard mind.
