Broken Bose System Options?

Hello all,

My Bose satnav/Infotainment thingy (is it a NIT?) doesn't work... The CD player doesn't work but the radio does... I must admit to not having tried the USB or iPod inputs yet as I've only had it a few days (I knew the system wasn't working when I bought it..)

Anyway, I have tried to read as many posts on here including all 27 pages of the SM Apple carplay/Android upgrade that seems fantastic and another about HDDs, SSDs and PATA vs SATA but must state that I am now more confused than ever as I don't think any of these fixes/upgrades are compatible with my system (and I don't know why not?) - so I'm sorry if I'm covering old ground but I'm lost!!!

Have I got any options to fix it or upgrade it or are my choices simply live to with it or 'one for one' replace it for a few grand...?

I've attached a photograph for clarity around exactly which system I have - and what it currently looks like in operation.

Any help or advice would be gratefully received.

Joe

My 2pence worth is to leave it bro! That couple of grand might prove more useful down the line.

Replace it with the standard kit and fit car play?
Sounds easy but getting one at realistic price and also getting the dash trim to match existing is like rocking horse .... I am planning to pull mine over winter, measure and try and find aftermarket that may fit. Or I will just have to sell with non functional satnav.. I just need a disc to test it as well!

Thanks all.... I'll have a dig through the bulletin Keano and hopefully find something there...
When I picked it up the dealer had fitted a new battery so I'm not holding my breath that a battery reset will do anything but I'll give it a go anyway as there's nothing to lose.
'Downgrading' to the standard system the adding the car play mod is tempting but sounds like a lot of faff and expense too.
As it sounds as though there's no real straightforward fix, I think I'll get an audio fitter to have a look and pray for a broken/loose cable or something then take it from there...
