There is no shortage of 35 profile ok.
Roads are a mixture of motorway and ****.

Was thinking of 35's but think they would look 'undernourished' in the wheelarch!

Would 45's fit?

I wouldn't go 45, especially if doing motorway miles.
The Pirellis, being correct size, would always be better than a 'compromise'. Pzero are very good, especially in the soon to be here summer.

I do have Pirelli SottoZero 285/40 R18 101 V (Winter Tyres) still fitted, could I use these through 'summer', observing speed restraints?

Yes you can use winter tyres anytime, they are usually slightly noisier but still work..!!

I don't think hearing noise is an issue!

They are 'v' rated, around 150mph. I wonder is this an absolute limit or is there a % margin of safety built in?

Winters are very much more noisy and won't last well through the summer but beyond that no problem, speed rating didn't seem to be an issue for me (ran them till July I think).

QP4ME, if you are struggling on size don't change profile go 5mm either way on width 10mm if you have to this will open up many more options for you.

You would have to check the space you have in the wheel arch, front with wheels at different positions and back, just to make sure..!!

If possible I'd get the summer tyres and swap back around October. The winter tyres will wear quicker through summer.

Wrap the winters in film and store out of sunlight whilst off the car, and vice versa to keep in best condition.
Most fitters will charge £10 - £20 per wheel to change and balance.

Judging by the slight tyre rub marks on the inside of the wheelwell, a wider size is not possible.

Will my winter tyres wear out in jig time if used in milder weather?

They will wear slightly quicker in the dry than in the wet, they were designed to be kept cool in winter..!!

No it's the water in winter that keeps them cool from road use, a tyre will still get hot in the dry, even if the weather is cool..!!

All tyres will have 'best' operating temperatures. Winters should be fine for short journeys but prolonged motorway use at height of summer could cause graining and once this starts they will wear quickly. They are also designed to go through heat cycles. If the operating temperature is exceeded this can result in the tyre integrity being compromised so the tyre can harden and not give as good feedback.
Therefore, its about how you plan to drive the car.
