The 911 was supposed to have been killed off years ago, but the old adage is 'if it aint's broke don't fix it', and like it or not they keep selling. To my mind the latest incarnation is too messy, and they should have looked to the original 911 Turbo for inspiration.

Phil, sure it will sell by the bucket load...It will still be a great drivers car no doubt.

I'm glad they have *finally* put a decent interior into it!

Prepared to bet money that the way I drive I woudn't be able to tell the difference between this 991 and the outgoing 997. Which makes the 997 quite the bargain when it drops in price, nice cabrio ina couple of years.

The rear engine layout and that silhouette are iconic now - they should never and will never change. Want something different? Cabrio, Cayman, Boxster, Cayenne, Panamera or 918(!) cover the bases.

That's a cheap S Dem....Cracking cars and great drivers car but for some reason they don't move me........

Lewis, an early 997 is great value now...Higher miles ones start at 25k which is a craking car for the money...agree about the interior..Only just really noticed it. Like that alot.

still think they could do better with the interior, step it up to Aston levels and it would improve the car a lot

Marmite - love em or hate em. my daily is my little 911 and i do love em...agree they will never change the shape and i don't want them to. The interiors do make me smile, it is like wearing the same comfy slippers, but then is that a bad thing, or comforting? can't wait to see one in the flesh..

Aston is quite a bit more expensive though so that's tough to do. The exepctation is that the 911 should still look like new after150k miles, the Aston will only do 4k/year and never reach big mileage so the interior is less hard wearing!

The Aston sacrifices useablity for looks, loads of tiny buttons for phone and so on that I have never used and have no idea what they do. I have a whole keypad, no idea what it's for! Hidden satnav is nice when not in use, but is a **** unit when it is! 911 is a comfortable utility sports car, Aston a luxury Grand Tourer. Vive la difference!
